Merlin Melon – A Giving Transformation Tuesday

It’s not just Giving Tuesday, it’s Transformation Tuesday!

You might remember, Merlin Melon arrived with a severe upper respiratory infection, and his finder had driven to every organization she could find and been turned away at each one. We were also full at the time but knew that he needed immediate care and attention if he was going to get better.

We brought him straight to one of our vet partners and he was diagnosed with Severe Upper Respiratory Disease, as expected, but also conjunctivitis, a flea infestation, coccidia, and was found to be emaciated. One of the vets took him home to foster because of how much care was needed to make him better.

Being this sick for this long as a kitten made him susceptible to additional illness, like Calicivirus which he picked up a couple months later despite being vaccinated. This left him with mouth ulcers and a high fever. He also had a lack of appetite, which for an emaciated kitten, was not ideal at all.

Eventually, after several treatments, rounds of antibiotics, vet visits, dewormings, appetite stimulants, and plenty of snuggles, he finally turned a corner and blossomed into the beautiful kitten pictured!

This transformation would never have been possible without your support! We appreciate each and every one of you who read and share our posts, volunteer, foster, and donate.

We owe these amazing transformations to you! If you’re able, please consider making a donation so we can continue to be there for animals with nowhere else to go.

And if you’ve fallen in love with him, he’s adoptable!
