Letter from the Executive Director:
Thanks to everyone who’s thought to reach out to LCHS amid the current state of unease. Our priorities at this time include providing support to those at risk of losing their pet(s) due to financial hardship, completing adoptions of animals currently in our care, and assisting animals in need by continuing to bring them into the LCHS foster program. In the last week we’ve received a generous outpouring of support toward our Community Pet Food Pantry. Weekly pet food assistance is being provided to Elder Care Services. Also, individuals in need of pet food assistance are being provided with pet food at the LCHS office, and some pet food is being delivered to those without transportation. If you know of someone in need of pet food assistance, please have them call our office (850) 224-9193 from 10:00-3:00 Mon- Fri.
Animal adoptions have continued as usual. Because most adoptable cats are housed at the LCHS office and Tally Cat Café, we’ll make accommodations to allow APPROVED adopters the opportunity to meet with cats at scheduled times. We’re still working out the details, but as always, the animals are our #1 concern. Unfortunately, along with the Paws Fur A Cause adoption event, our Dog Wash fundraiser for the month of April has been cancelled. We’ll update you on the rest of the Dog Wash season as each month nears. This will be a tough year for many, including our organization. We’ll continue to assist our community as best we’re able and we thank YOU for being the kind and generous animal lovers that you are!
Stay Well,
Lisa Glunt
