Sadie had a rough life prior to being rescued by LCHS; covered in dirt, had ear infections, and was extremely underweight and malnourished. Although we are unsure of her actual age, she does appear to have been a younger mom. Sadie has gained over 10 lbs and now has the energy to act her true goofy self. She is heartworm positive and is actively receiving treatment for this and will need to continue this well into the new year. Sadie LOVES sleeping on the couch, giving lots of kisses and going on walks around the neighborhood. Sadie plays well with my golden retriever and has done well on brief interactions with other dogs (corgi, border collie breeds) however does not get along well with my male white German shepherd. Hopefully it is just that he comes off as old and grumpy and Sadie does not like that. I think meet and greets would be beneficial for potential adopters who have other dogs. Sadie appears to be part white shepherd herself, although mixed with another breed. Because of the shepherd in her, Sadie sheds A LOT so vacuuming is a frequent task. Sadie is crate trained and does extremely well in the crate while we are out of the house. She sleeps on the couch all night and is well behaved. Unsure how she would be out of the crate when owners are gone (she is very curious and food driven, and has been spotted counter surfing). Sadie however is easily trainable and has learned “sit” and “paw” and is eager to learn more commands and good behaviors with her future adopters. Sadie will make a great, loyal companion for many years to come.
