Pongo

Pongo Pongo!'' is a great little 8# approximately 3 year old neutered male Chihuahua mix. He loves everyone that lives in his foster home: Mom, Dad, 17yo son, adult daughter, and 5yo autistic grandson. Mom is Pongo's favorite, but he gets really excited when any one of his people walk into the house or even back into the room. Our grandson is a cat person and doesn't try to pick up or play with Pongo much. A house with dog respectful above toddler age children is recommended.While Pongo is generally friendly, he does exhibit some expected Chihuahua behavior. He can be a bit dramatic at the vet's office and caused quite the stir at our house when we were failing miserably at getting the ''cone of shame'' back on him. There may have been some screaming at 6:00 AM, not by the humans. However, since that first morning, mom was able to administer oral pain medication and eye drops all on her own. (Pongo was neutered and had a small cherry eye repair at Ox Bottom Animal Hospital.)Pongo likes to eat. He will need a pawrent that will keep an eye on his food intake and not let him overeat. Pongo eats and sleeps in a puppy crate. He also protects his crate. Pongo prefers other dogs and cats stay clear of his crate, please and thank you very much. Pongo walks well on a leash but prefers to be carried when away from home. He is used to going out to potty off leash in a large fenced yard several times a day. Watching him ''strut'' across the yard is fantastic. Pongo has about one pee and/or poo accident in the house each day. He is little and needs to go out often.Pongo is in a foster home with other dogs of various size and age. They don't pay much attention to him and he is just fine with that. He has attempted to play with the cats then runs away screaming like a Chihuahua when the cats look at him wrong.Pongo's favorite things are stuffed animals, snacks, and couch cuddles.
