Fern

Meet Fern, a beautiful Husky/German Shepherd mix, who loves tummy rubs and being with her people! Fern is estimated to be about two years old. She was recently removed from an unhealthy situation where she was crated all day, every day. Now in a foster home, Fern is learning how to live like a normal dog, and learning social skills and manners, for the first time. She is super smart, so she is catching on quickly. She is making progress with housetraining, basic obedience, and self-control. She sleeps in the crate well at night and is working on her tolerance of occasional crate time during the day. Fern has a lot of energy which needs to be directed with consistent physical and intellectual activities. She is dog-friendly with slow and supervised introductions; she is learning social skills with dogs too. Fern is going to make a great companion for the adopter with no small children who sees Fern's potential and is willing to put the effort into helping her feel safe and loved.
