This sweet baby Butters has overcome every obstacle life has put in front of her even with the odds stacked against her. Butters, her 5 siblings and mother were rescued by LCHS in the nick of time… found malnourished, flea infested, filthy and with a slew of medical problems. Butters was originally placed in a foster’s home with her brother Biscuit, but after their first night, both became critically ill and tested positive for Parvo. Ox Bottom Animal Clinic worked around the clock to try to save their lives but unfortunately Biscuit did not survive, leaving Butters to fight to stay alive all alone. After great effort, lots of love and all the fight she could muster, Butters not only survived, she thrived. Now, she has gained 10 lbs, is a ball of energy and no one would ever know the ordeal she has been through. Butters breed is a complete mystery… while her mom is some kind of Shepard mix, Butters has all the markers of a Terrier breed (Pitbull and something else). She is an insanely smart puppy, at only 16 weeks, she is 70% potty trained and crate trained, loves other dogs, loves cats (even if they don’t love her back) and thinks children are just more playmates for her! While she still has to be watched because of the puppy chewing phase, she does perfectly in the house. She plays and knows where she can be in the house and when it’s time for a nap, she either willingly walks into her crate and climbs into bed or finds her favorite chair and sprawls out. She is currently fostered with 4 other dogs (a Weimaraner, Spaniel, Terrier mix and Chihuahua mix) and loves to run, play and snuggle with them all—whether they want to or not. She loves routine, she knows when she eats in the morning and at night, when it’s time for bed and that she gets an ice cube just like the big dogs every time someone goes to the fridge! Butters would do best in a home with another dog or with a family that would provide tons of one-on-one time with her. She is very social and loves, loves, LOVES to play! But because of her energy level, we would advise against adopting Butters if you have a senior dog that may not tolerate or appreciate her playing. Butters is at a great age for adoption… she’s young, easily trained, ridiculously loveable and ready for her forever family!
