Meet Rex, the sweetest boy you ever did see. So sweet he might choose you as his furever best friend. Prior to LCHS, he had a rough life and lived outside on a leash with many other dogs. He’s very glad to leave that behind, but is important to know you must earn his trust and love Rex does take time to warm up to people, but once he finds “his person”, he relaxes and is ready to cuddle. He’s what I call a “heart dog” — a dog worth every ounce of effort to earn his trust and steals your heart in the process. A dog you’ll remember forever. Rex loves his fur-friends (of all sizes). His current foster home doesn’t have cats, but has a small dog, and he does well with him. He loves romping around in the backyard with the others, but has no clue what to do with toys — we’re pretty sure his life prior to LCHS didn’t have toys, treats, or the love of a friend. With that, he is house trained, doesn’t really bark, and loves having a home base, like a crate. Don’t bother closing the door, he feels most secure in there. Rex would do best in a home where his furever humans are breed savvy and have the time, patience, and dedication to help me be all that I can be, as he continues to open up, and learn how to “dog”. He would probably prefer a home with no kids or older kids since he is more reserved. Rex’s next home requires a tall, securely fenced yard and understanding adjustment takes time.
