On Wednesday, Leon County Humane Society headed out to Louisiana to visit Plaquimines Animal Welfare Society. Their funding has been cut, and while cats everywhere are in need of saving, this shelter will have no choice but to euthanize all remaining animals after December 31st, making their needs more pressing than most.
We were able to save 22 cats, and one surprise on this trip. They have all been brought back to Tallahassee and placed in foster care. They will be available for adoption soon.
This trip has been an emotional reminder that while we can’t save every animal, that won’t stop us from doing our very best.
